Set up a display and get the link

First choose between the 3 display types for showing captions in Presenter:

Show a set number of lines of scrolling captions over your video or presentation. This approach lets you set the number of lines, text size and caption background.
This is our recommended option for showing over videos & slides

Perfect for dedicated captions or translations monitors, where scrolling captions will take up the whole screen. Use the link to help put together your full screen display link.

Single-line captions with flexible styling options, perfect for lower thirds or subtitle style. Once you set up one of these displays, copy the link for the next step.

Add the display to WorshipTools Presenter

CaptionKit uses WorshipTools Presenter's Background Web Page feature, to display the live caption webpage within a presentation. This setup is quick and easy to configure and ensures that minimal changes are needed to your presentation.

Adding captions to a service item (recommended)

By setting captions as a background for your service item captions to persist across multiple slides. This means that you can continue showing items like scriptures and sermon slides, while captions continue.

  • In WorshipTools Presenter, select a service item and click the ✏️ Edit button

  • In the Background panel, select Web Page

  • Enter your Display url from earlier into the Web page URL input and click Save

  • Click a slide to begin presenting on-screen and you will see your captions display after a moment. As the captions are part of the whole service item, they will continue through all slides without having to reload.

Testing out your captions

To test a display with example test, add ?text=Your example text to the end of your display URL. This will keep the text on screen while you get everything set up.

Once you're done testing, just remove everything after the ? to make sure your display shows only live caption text.
