CaptionKit allows you to translate captions in real-time. This is great for multilingual congregations or for events with international audiences.

While we process translations as quickly as possible, translated text may be delayed by 1-2 seconds compared to captions in the original language.

Choose your output languages

Captions will always be available in the original language of the speaker. To enable additional translations, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the CaptionKit Dashboard

  2. Click Translations in the right hand sidebar

  3. Select your preferred languages from language popup

  4. When you start your stream, captions will be translated and streamed in your selected language

View translated captions

If you have turned on translations for your stream, these can be chosen on your live caption page or app

  1. Open your captions page on the website or mobile app

  2. Click the language selection button on the bottom of the control panel

  3. Select your preferred language

  4. The page will reload and you'll see captions in your selected language

Select caption language

Translations for output displays

As well as viewing translated captions in the web view, you can also send translated captions on your output display.

  1. In the CaptionKit Dashboard click on the Displays menu item

  2. Find your selected display

  3. Click the πŸ”— icon to copy the URL to your clipboard

  4. Click your chosen language from the popup

  5. Paste the url into your display software or a browser

Captions will only stream in languages you have selected in the output languages section of the dashboard.
