Audio translations read your live translations aloud in natural-sounding voices, in over 120 languages. Listeners can hear the service in their own language on their phone with headphones, on your caption page or in the CaptionKit app.
Every audio translation also includes the text translation for that language, so captions and audio stay available together. Audio follows a few seconds behind the speaker, while each sentence is translated and voiced.
Turn on audio for a language
Open Broadcast controls in the CaptionKit Dashboard
In the Translations section, add the language if it isn't there already
Click the headphones icon next to the language to turn audio on
Start your stream as normal
You can turn on audio for as many languages as your plan includes. Languages without a voice don't show the headphones icon. See Supported languages for the full list.
Choose a voice
In Broadcast controls, set Voice type to Male or Female. The same voice type is used for every audio language.
Listening to audio translations
Open your caption page on the web, or your church in the CaptionKit app
Choose a language that has audio turned on
Press the Listen button
We recommend headphones, so the audio doesn't mix with the room. On the web, keep the caption page open with the screen on while listening. For listening with the screen locked, use the CaptionKit app for iOS or Android.
Adding audio translations to your plan
Audio translations can be added to any plan. They're priced per language, per caption hour in your plan, and include the text translation for that language. You can see prices in your currency on our pricing page.
Open Plan & usage in the dashboard
Edit your plan and choose how many audio translations you need
Review the summary and confirm
If you add audio part-way through a billing month, you only pay for the caption hours left in that month. The confirmation shows exactly what you'll be charged before you agree.
Try it free: 4 trial audio hours
Every paid plan without audio translations includes 4 free hours of audio for one language, so you can try it with your congregation first.
In Broadcast controls, click the headphones icon on one translation language
Start your stream. Trial time counts down while you broadcast with audio on
Check your remaining time in Plan & usage under Trial audio hours
When the trial hours are used up, audio stops and your text translations carry on as normal. Add audio translations to your plan to keep using them.
